利物浦前12轮取得了31分和16个净胜球，这一数据和93-94赛季弗格森执教的曼联数据相同，当时曼联12轮过后领先9分，最终以92分顺利夺冠，如今的利物浦领先8分之多，从历史数据看似乎对利物浦十分有利。

1993-94赛季的英超联赛，曼联在前12轮同样取得了10胜1平1负的战绩，随后球队一度经历过连续22场不败，最终以92分获得了英超冠军，布莱克本则是84分获得亚军，纽卡77分第三，阿森纳71分第四。需要注意的是，当时的英超还是22队参加，一共进行42轮联赛。

前12轮取得至少31分的10支球队，有8支最终获得了冠军，只有95-96赛季的纽卡和22-23赛季的阿森纳最终没有夺冠。
